from Nick Santino of A Rocket To The Moon:

So I was driving back to my house last week listening to New Found Glory. It was sunny out in Massachusetts (for once) so of course the pop punk playlist comes out to play. One of my favorite songs from this band is Dressed To Kill and have always wanted to do my own version of it… And so I got home and recorded it in my basement. Added some mandolin and lap steel for dramatic effect, and now I give you Dressed To Kill. Enjoy.

Nick

This gets a total thumbs up. One of my favorite songs redone by an amazing artist. What’s everyone else think of this one?

-Kari

NEW:  A Rocket To The Moon EP

Fueled By Ramen recording group A Rocket To The Moon has announced the release of their new EP.  “THE RAINY DAY SESSIONS” is available for download exclusively via iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-rainy-day-sessions-ep/id394813900).
The 5-track EP features new versions of songs originally found on last year’s acclaimed debut album, “ON YOUR SIDE,” recorded with female bluegrass group Larkin Poe and award-winning producer Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra).  Among the highlights of “THE RAINY DAY SESSIONS” is a Country and Bluegrass Tinged take on the band’s recent single, “Like We Used To,” as well as a creative cover of Beyoncé’s classic “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” (see attached tracklisting).
“The reason behind ‘THE RAINY DAY SESSIONS’ is pretty simple,” says ARTTM singer/guitarist Nick Santino.  “We all love making music.  In any way shape or form.  So when the opportunity was given to us to sit in a room with a tin roof and live record a few songs with two of the most talented bluegrass girls I’ve ever heard on a rainy Georgia day, we couldn’t pass it up.  We all love country music and every form of country music.  I think this EP really shows our love for the music and music in general.”
“Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” exclusively premiered online on October 1st via AOL Music.  What’s more, “Like We Used To” will be released as an iTunes deluxe single on October 21st, with extras including a piano version, music video and deluxe digital booklet with new photos, handwritten lyrics from band and more.  The track has already proven an online favorite, with sales exceeding 200,000 and more than 1 million video streams at Fueled By Ramen’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/FueledByRamen.  In addition, “Like We Used To” is also slated to be featured on two of MTV’s biggest hit shows, Teen Mom (on October 5th) and Jersey Shore (on October 21st).
A Rocket To The Moon will celebrate the release of “THE RAINY DAY SESSIONS” by supporting All Time Low on their upcoming “My Small Package Tour.”  The dates – most of which are already fully sold out – will kick off on October 18th at Philadelphia’s North Star Bar and then continue through mid-December.
The brainchild of Braintree, Massachusetts-based songwriter/musician Nick Santino, A Rocket To The Moon has toured virtually non-stop since the release of their 2008 Fueled By Ramen debut EP, “GREETINGS FROM…”  The band has shared bills with an array of like-minded artists, including Cobra Starship, VersaEmerge, 3OH!3, Forever The Sickest Kids, We The Kings, The Maine, The Cab, Cute Is What We Aim For, Secondhand Serenade, Hey Monday, This Providence, and Hit The Lights.  ARTTM has also proven a MySpace sensation, now with over 34 million streams and counting.

Tonight has been a very exciting and slightly frustrating night for those special All Time Low Hustlers out there. The dates for the My Small Package tour were said to be released tonight at midnight, but the release was delayed due to the fact that The Hustler Club website crashed from so many visitors. Not only that but the popular blogging site Tumblr also experienced a delay due to people constantly visiting and refreshing the site. An admin sent out a message telling people to leave the site for a moment so the dates could finally be posted. The tour will include bands A Rocket To The Moon and City Comma State. Presale begins this Wednesday September first but only for those who are members of the fan club. Keep your eyes peeled if you want to go to the show, the band is going back to their roots and only playing small venues, such as the Baltimore Recher Theatre where All Time Low got their start. So far it’s taken over two and a half hours to get the site back up and get the dates onto the internet to those loyal anxious fans. BUT only half the dates are currently out and the rest will be out shortly. There are 24 dates in all.

ROCKS LIKE: The Summer Set, The Maine, A Rocket To The Moon, We The Kings

Hailing from Sacramento, California, Colby Wedgeworth and his band are just starting off on a crazy adventure that will surely include fame. Recently opening for The Maine’s headlining tour in San Francisco, CA, Colby definitely made many fans with both his charming, friendly personality and his catchy, fun loving songs that are brimming with potential. Through a combination of these attributes and more, Colby and his band have found themselves now being managed under the same company that manages The Maine, Brighten, A Rocket To The Moon, and others known as Eighty One Twenty Three Management. Under the wing of Tim Kirch, they will surely go places both dazzling and beyond their wildest expectations.

Here is a download link for Colby and his still unnamed band’s song entitled “Ghost”. Check it out! Also, click on his name in the first sentence to check out his personal music myspace. Don’t miss out on an oppotunity to find new, amazing music. This guy has talent, and you wouldn’t want to miss out on something like that.
Oh, and another thing: http://twitter.com/colbywedgeworth

Don’t believe me? Here are some reviews of Colby:

“Colby Wedgeworth is an incredibly talented musician/song-writer and producer. Because the quality was so good, I couldn’t believe that [his] demos were actually tracked in a bedroom. Until I saw the room with my own eyes, I was convinced he was lying to me! Colby has a great ear and is a hidden gem of a producer just waiting to be discovered”

~ Chad Johnson - Director of A&R Tooth and Nail Records

“Colby is an up and coming production force to be reckoned with! Keep your ear on his work and an eye on his developing career. I expect big things from [him]”

~ Brian Garcia - LA Producer and Engineer (Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Our Lady Peace)

All Time Low’s fall tour will be a small venue tour. They have announced they will be playing The Shelter in Detroit, Michigan — which holds roughly 200 people, so that is a good indication on how small the shows will be. Follow us for more info as this story develops!

I hear this tour is going to be awesome, and that A Rocket To The Moon will be openers. Hopefully they make it to a city near you and VVP!
